General Volunteer Positions

Front Table - Answer questions about SRS and robots, direct competitors to contest areas. Robothon committee members will be available to help with questions.

    Saturday

12:00 - 2:30
2:30 - 5:00

Setup and Tear Down - Help with moving contest equipment and vendor supplies from storage to the main floor and back. (Setup/Tear Down of tables and chairs is taken care of by the Seattle Center.)

  Friday Night Load at storage facility (6:00-8:00 p.m.)
Saturday Setup at Seattle Center (8:00-10:00 a.m.)
Saturday Tear Down at Seattle Center (5:00-6:00 p.m.)
Sunday Morning Unload at storage facility (9:00-11:00 a.m.)


Contest Volunteer Positions

Robo-Magellan

This event will be approximately 2 hours on Saturday morning.

  Setup /
Tear Down
  Help mark the course and place cones. Set up table and chairs, and the sun/rain tent. After the competition, collect cones and tear down the tent, etc.
  Check-In /
Scorekeeper
  Make sure the robots meet the required size and weight constraints, and have appropriate kill switches installed (starting about 15 minutes before the event). Fill out the scoresheet and advise the Judge which competitor is up next.
  Judge   Time the robots, enforce the rules, and report time, bonus cones, and distance (to the final cone) to the scorekeeper after each run. You must understand the contest and know the rules.

Line Following

This event will be approximately 1 1/2 hours on Saturday morning.

Scorekeeper
  Check in robot competitors (starting about 15 minutes before the event). Fill out the scoresheet and advise the MC which competitor is up next.
  Judge   Watch robots run the course and perform resets as necessary. Report reset count to the scorekeeper after each run. Enforce the rules. You must understand the contest and know the rules.
  Timer   Time the robots and report times to the scorekeeper after each run.

Line Maze

This event will be approximately 1 hour on Saturday afternoon.

  Check-In /
Scorekeeper
  Make sure the robots meet the required size constraints (starting about 15 minutes before the event). Fill out the scoresheet and advise the MC which competitor is up next.
  Judge   Time the robots and determine closest distance to the end for each run. Report times and distances to the scorekeeper. Enforce the rules. You must understand the contest and know the rules.
  Timer   Time the robots and report times to the scorekeeper after each run.

Mini Sumo

This event will be approximately 1 hour on Saturday afternoon, covering both the Beginner and Advanced Mini Sumo events.

Scorekeeper
  Make sure the robots meet the required size and weight constraints (starting about 15 minutes before the event). Fill out the scoresheet and advise the MC which competitors are up and "on deck."
  Judge   Time the matches, enforce the rules, and determine the winner of each match. You must understand the contest and know the rules.
